How do I select multiple objects with a brush or selection with the mouse or something?

I am making a big map currently and selecting one object at a time takes too much time. anyone knows how I can select more then like 100 objects at a time with a brush or selection grid? need to move them for my map.

Draw a brush that encompasses all of what you want selected, then go to Selection>Select By and then I think it's Select Inside.
